Beyond Belief! is on the way

Beyond Belief

It’s time to take to the streets … for good! Here’s a great antidote to the present disorders that’s coming up in Cambridge on 22-28 October. I posted about it back in April.

With support from Soul Survivor and British Youth for Christ, plus a host of local partners, ‘Beyond Belief’ aims to see the grace of God exploding across this city in a special week of activity this autumn. We hope to see 300 young people join together, ready to serve the local church in a range of social action and mission projects, making Jesus known in word and deed.
You may be interested in serving on the team as a young person or as an adult team leader, or you may be interested in hosting a team at your church and getting them out into your community. Whatever skills you have – we need you! Sign up here www.beyondbelief.me/ or check out the Beyond Belief facebook page http://www.facebook.com/gobeyondbelief.

The Vision
Beyond Belief is hundreds of young people giving away God’s love. Over the last decade, Soul Survivor have pioneered significant events in London, Manchester and Durban, filling the streets with acts of kindness. In 2011 it’s time for Cambridge! Beyond Belief will be 6 days of words, works and wonders. Hosted by local churches, delegates will engage in community action and outreach projects, sharing the outrageous grace of God. Doesn’t that sound amazing?
The Programme
Camping out together in a local school, young people will start each day with worship and teaching led by the Soul Survivor team. Then in groups of about 20 they’ll spread out across the city, digging gardens, painting community facilities, running youth cafes and outreach events, making Jesus known wherever they go. This is quite simply the most significant youth led mission event in the UK. And it’s happening here. Be part of it!
Our Mission
We’re aiming to:
Give hundreds of young people a lifechanging taste of selfless service.
Equip the church to extend its welcome and witness into their local community
Bless the city with an outpouring of kindness, opening eyes to the goodness of God.
The Details
Beyond Belief takes place from 22-28 October 2011 – coninciding with the region’s half term holidays. Our young delegates will arrive in the afternoon of Saturday 22nd and leave around lunchtime on Friday 28th with their aching limbs, memories and souvenir hoodies. This amazing event is being made possible by the wholehearted support of Soul Survivor and British Youth for Christ, with the endorsement and participation of many churches and organisations.
The Small Print
Beyond Belief is part of an ongoing initiative of Cambridge & District YFC through which churches are working together for young people, under the banner of ‘Hope Revolution Cambridge’
