Back to Church Sunday rolling out

Just back from an excellent briefing about Back to Church Sunday for the Ely Diocese. We’re well on track for our target of 100+ parishes taking part, on the last Sunday in September. On average, we were told, a church gains 1.5 new regular attenders if it participates. Not a lot, you think. But 100 churches taking part = 150 new regulars = 3 decent new congregations in the diocese. It makes you think.

So, if you haven’t already, think about signing up. Contact Nick Devenish to find out more and (if you’re quick) put your name down of our free copies of the BtCS pack, “worth over £20” (really).

I’ll be doing my own bit in the media to issue my own invitation to people living in the diocese to come along to church that Sunday, but for now, here is a “message of endorsement” that’s posted on YouTube here. The episcopal expression doesn’t look quite so strange when you see it in motion – or that’s what I like to think anyway.
