New name-stone found at Lindisfarne

A crowd-funded dig has unearthed a rare name-stone on Linfisfarne, probably part if a small  grave-marker from the Anglo-Saxon monastery there. The name ends FRITH – Alhfrith and Aldfrith were for example members of the Northumbrian royal family in the seventh century, which is likely to be the date of this stone. Enjoy the 3D model: state-of-the art presentation of small finds.
