The Bishop of Ely, the Rt Revd Stephen Conway, and Bishop of Huntingdon, the Rt Revd David Thomson, today urged prayers for all those affected by the massacre in Orlando.
They said: “As the enormity of the outrage in Orlando sinks in, and we sense the scale of the pain it is continuing to cause, we are committed to holding all affected before God in prayer. We stand with both those in Orlando and the wider LGBTI community in saying ‘never again’ to such acts, especially when faith of any kind is claimed as a justification for them. The God we know in Jesus Christ comes to us with life and love, not a gun and death.”
