For more than 30 years the National Deaneries Network and its predecessors have been supporting the vital work of Deaneries.

Organiser Tug Wilson has now released the details of the 15th National Deaneries Conference which will be at the Hayes Conference Centre, Swanwick from Friday 7 October to Sunday 9 October.

More for Less: Deaneries in Renewal and Reform picks up the theme of the Renewal and Reform programme. The programme is not just about the “Simplification Agenda”. At the heart of Reform and Renewal is Mission; Spiritual and numerical growth; Contributing to the common good and Re-imagining ministry.

Key Speakers

The Deanery has a key and increasingly important role in the vision to re-shape the Church. With the conference programme looking at the opportunities and role of Deaneries as part of the Renewal and Reform programme speakers will include:

  • Rt Revd Ric Thorpe, Bishop of Islington who has a national role for supporting church planting.
  • Canon John Spence, Archbishops’ Council Co-ordinator for the Renewal and Reform agenda will explore the opportunities for deaneries.
  • Revd Canon Dr Roger Matthews, Dean of Mission and Ministry in the Chelmsford Diocese brings his experience of deanery strategy and leadership development.
  • Re Revd Peter Hancock, Bishop of Bath and Wells will provide continuing review input and reflection throughout the conference.

Workshops will offer practical support on engaging with the Media; How the Online Pastor supports the Deanery and new and alternative approaches to deanery leadership. Other speakers are still to be announced.

New for 2016 – Block Booking and Online booking

A key part of the National Deaneries Conference is the networking and opportunities for sharing experiences and this has been recognised by a number of Dioceses who now make block reservations to enable their diocese to be properly represented.

Therefore, to make it easier for Dioceses, for the 2016 conference dioceses will be able to block book places (a minimum of 4 delegates) and make a saving of £16 per delegate . Tug hopes Diocese of Ely will make use of this facility.

Bookings can still be made using the attached booking form; however, it is even easier now to book. New for 2106 is the ability to book online at www.thelittleboxoffice.com/nationaldeaneriesnetwork
