Cambridgeshire Historic Churches Trust – Honorary Treasurer

Since its foundation in 1983, the Trust has offered over £2,000,000 in interest free loans and over £500,000 in grants for works of repair and improvements to places of worship across Cambridgeshire.
After 25 years our Treasurer has decided to retire. We are looking for someone with financial expertise to take on this role. Responsibilities include:-
Maintain records of the Trust’s main bank accounts, recording all receipts and payments. Approximately 60 cheques are drawn per annum. (Note that the records for our main fundraising event, the annual Sponsored Cycle Ride, are being taken up by another person).
Monitor the receipt of loan repayments which are usually over 4 years with equal annual instalments, although occasionally bridging loans are offered.
Advise the Membership secretary on a monthly basis of the subscriptions received, with the majority being received on the 1st January.
Maintain a record of the Gift Aided subscriptions. Each April complete the HMRC Gift Aid claim, incorporating subscriptions and the Sponsored Cycle Ride donations.
In early July liaise with the Auditor for the auditing of the Annual Accounts which will be produced by the end of August.
In September submit the Annual Report and Accounts to the Charity Commissioners.
Prepare Treasurer’s Reports for submission to the Executive Committee meetings every other month and to the Trustees meetings twice a year. Meetings are generally held in Ely, Cambridgeshire.
