Ely Sleepout

On the cold, cold night of December 12th Alan Hargave is leading a group who are sleeping out in the Galilee Porch of Ely Cathedral to raise money for the Church Urban Fund’s transforming work with people who are homeless or suffering domestic abuse. If you would like to support him please go to the website: https://adventsleepout.everydayhero.com/uk/alan-3 – which also tells you more about the project – or you can drop a donation off at the Cathedral Chapter House, made payable either to ‘Ely Cathedral’ or the ‘Church Urban Fund’ and clearly marked ‘To support Alan in Sleepout Challenge’.

“Thanks for your support,” says Alan, “and here’s hoping it doesn’t snow!”

  1. Alas, Ely Cathedral was also used as the setting for prizes for local estate agents, who play a role in the absurd cost of housing in 21st century Britain. I hope Bishop David will explain why this use of the cathedral was a good idea.
