The Green Report has got everyone talking (again…) about leadership in the church. Less reported but more focussed on the theology is Senior Church Leadership: A resource for reflection from the Faith and Order Commission. But don’t miss out on a quite different work also recently published in which Ken Bailey, formerly of the Tantur Ecumenical Institute in Jerusalem, pulls together a lifetime of thinking about the Good Shepherd as a key theme for Christian leadership and followership. It’s worth remembering just how often this image was used in the art of the early church. It faded from view around the time that Christianity became official.
