We’re so grateful to the Suffolk Historic Churches Trust for a grant of £150,000 which will support a new wave of our Elix maintenance scheme, offering a £175 grant per year for 5 years  to the first 150 churches who opt in. That’s nearly half the cost, and in return an approved contractor clears out the raingoods, drains etc to keep the building safe. Since damp is such an expensive problem for buildings like churches, it really is a case of a stitch in time saving nine. So here am I doing my bit for the annual leaf clear with James Halsall (DAC secretary, who can tell you more), Martin Renforth of the contractor MY, and Martin Favell of SHCT. Thanks to Keith Mindham for the photo.
