FROM DAVID THOMSON, THE BISHOP OF HUNTINGDON

New Developments

Capt. Jim Currin CA links the new housing network at Churcches Together in England (in addition to a main brief of evangelism). They have the website: Church in New Housing Areas (www.cinha.net) for all church leaders concerned with new housing , planning processes and church planting.

Cambridgeshire Horizons commission triennial public attitude reports on new housing needs. Their reports show that residents see Faith Facilities as second only to the Fire Service as needs for new communities. http://www.cambridgeshirehorizons.co.uk/documents/publications/research/horizons_2008_survey.pdf

Horizons’ report on Faith Facilities in New Developments can be downloaded from http://www.cambridgeshirehorizons.co.uk/documents/publications/research/faith_facilities_study.pdf.

I was at St Paul’s Bledlow Ridge, a lovingly looked after village church which is (wonderfully) kept open in the day. There’s a John Piper West window which some see as a vision of heaven. Some people present knew well the village names on the war memorial, and it was good to have […]
