Harvest Festival

It’s Harvest Festival time. Ely Cathedral celebrates Harvest this coming weekend with a Supper on Friday and services at 10.30 and 4.00 on Sunday. My eye was caught by a very interesting photographic display called “Food and Farming: An Urban Perspective”. Author Richard Benson asked fashion photographer Kevin Foord to shoot rural scenes instead, and the pictures and text together are both informative and entertaining. You can see them online here but even better call in at the Cathedral. And you can make a donation too the Addington Fund who have sponsored it and who help famers in distress. ( I saw their good work first hand in Cumbria when Foot and Mouth struck and they were able to get cash in farmers’ hands, given by church people, very quickly indeed.)
